WHY THE HYBRID VERSION?

The solar cells available in today’s market converts around 20-27% maximum solar energy into power. In this case inverter efficiency plays vital role. The conventional solar inverters available in today’s market gives maximum efficiency of 70-77% whereas our  Greeny Solar Hybrid Home UPS design gives peak efficiency  up to > 90% , being the only suitable choice for this particular application.

A purely solar power solution for general lighting load is very expensive as far as initial investment is concerned. Also, due to frequent power failure, a regular battery backup UPS/ Inverter barely gets time to charge the battery from mains utility. The Hybrid Version combines solar energy and mains utility to give an excellent solution by providing the best of both worlds.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION:

HOW DOES IT WORK?

SYNC MODE: In this case, system operates as a conventional HOME UPS and also can function without the solar panels connected. If the solar panel is connected then the battery gets charged from both the sources i.e. Solar and Mains utility, but the available solar current is subtracted from the battery charging current from mains utility. During battery charging the first priority is given to Solar.

Example: Total battery charging current =15 A

Solar available current = 10A

Current drawn from Mains = 15-10 = 5A

SINGLE MODE: Unlike the SYNC mode here the battery gets charged only through the solar source. The connected load runs on the battery bank and solar source. As the battery gets fully discharged the connected load shifts to the mains utility and once the battery gets fully charged from the solar the entire connected load shifts back.

These features allow maximum proper usage of solar energy.

How does it work ?

This PCU works in Dual mode which is selectable by consumers by sliding switch.

1.    HYBRID MODE :  Solar power priority Control is Enabled, battery charges from only solar power source, During battery charging load bypassed to the Grid, once the battery gets fully charged if still Excess solar power is available Load Also gets connected automatically to the solar and battery source, Once the battery gets 60% discharged then  load automatically bypassed to Grid & Rest of the 40% of the battery saved for emergency power cuts(Grid does not charge the battery it only maintains the battery gravity level in case of Long term failure in Solar power).

2.    DOMESTIC MODE: In this case, it works as Normal Home UPS/Inverter. Solar power can be used for Battery charging, especially the areas like where there is a frequent, long duration power cut. During day time with available solar power & grid power will simultaneously feed the battery. Thereby minimizing the electricity bill & battery charging.
